Part 1. Using this website
- The information on this website is a general guide. It is not a quote or an offer.
- Prices from the instant quote tool are based on the sizes you enter and are subject to a site survey.
- Photos show examples of our work and of manufacturers' products. Colours on screen can differ from the real product.
- The content of this website belongs to Pro-Fit Floor Coverings Ltd or is used with permission. Please do not copy it without asking.
- How we use your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Part 2. Our terms of business
These terms apply when you accept a quote from us. If your quote says something different from these terms, the quote applies. If you are a main contractor and we have signed your subcontract, that subcontract applies instead.
1. Quotes
- Site surveys and quotes are free.
- A quote is open for 30 days from its date.
- The quote covers only the work and materials listed on it.
- The contract starts when you accept the quote in writing, including by email or through the link we send you.
2. Prices and VAT
- Our quotes show prices before VAT, with the VAT shown separately.
- If a supplier raises a price before we order, we will tell you before going ahead.
3. Deposit and payment
- Where a quote asks for a deposit, the deposit is 50% of the quote total including VAT and is due when you accept the quote.
- The balance is due within 7 days of the date of our invoice, unless we have agreed different terms in writing.
- We may charge interest on late payment by businesses at the rate set by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4. Materials
- Materials remain ours until they are paid for in full.
- Materials ordered or cut specially for your job cannot be returned once ordered.
- Flooring is made in batches. Small differences in shade between batches, and between a sample and the delivered product, are normal.
5. Before we arrive
Unless the quote says we will do it, please make sure that:
- rooms are cleared of furniture and breakables;
- we have access, parking, power, water and lighting;
- the building is dry, weathertight and heated to normal room temperature;
- other trades have finished in the rooms we are working in.
6. The floor underneath
- We cannot see the condition of the base until the old floor has been lifted.
- If we find damp, loose or uneven areas, or anything else that would stop the new floor lasting, we will show you and agree a price before doing extra work.
- If we suspect asbestos we will stop work in that area until it has been tested.
7. Doors and fittings
A new floor can change the floor height. Trimming doors and refitting appliances, sanitary ware or fixed furniture is only included if the quote lists it.
8. Dates and delays
- We will agree dates with you and do our best to keep to them.
- We are not responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, such as late deliveries by suppliers, other trades, or the site not being ready.
- If we arrive and cannot work because the site is not ready, we may charge for the wasted visit.
9. Your right to cancel (homes only)
- If you are a consumer and you agreed the contract away from our premises, for example at your home, or by phone, email or online, you normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days.
- To cancel, tell us clearly in writing before the 14 days end, by email to profitfloorcoverings@icloud.com or by post to Unit 14 Bartlett Court, Yeovil, BA20 2NZ.
- If you ask us to start work within the 14 days and then cancel, you must pay for the work done up to the time you cancel.
- The right to cancel may not apply to materials made or cut to your order.
10. Cancelling at other times
If you cancel after the 14 days, or you are a business, you must pay for materials we have ordered for your job and for any work done.
11. Our guarantee
- Our fitting is guaranteed for 12 months from the day the work is finished.
- Materials are covered by the manufacturer's own guarantee.
- The guarantee does not cover damage caused by damp or movement in the building, accidents, misuse, or cleaning methods the manufacturer does not recommend.
- If something is wrong, tell us as soon as you notice it and give us the chance to inspect and put it right.
12. Your legal rights
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms reduces your legal rights. The law says our work must be done with reasonable care and skill, and that materials must be as described and of satisfactory quality.
13. Our liability
- We do not limit our liability for death or injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- For businesses, our total liability for any one job is limited to the price of that job, and we are not liable for loss of profit or loss of business.

15. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
